Innovative educational project UniSpher was presented at the Johanna Jabotinsky “Atid” School. Its main goal is to create a new teaching method, or, to be more precise, a whole new world of education. Project’s pilot started at the school last school year, as a part of the transition to the new multidisciplinary education system and was met with great success. This school year, UniSpher launched at several other schools.
The launch event was attended by the project team, as well as the teachers and principals of the schools which plan to implement Unispher in the future. The former education minister Shai Piron was also present and gave a high evaluation to the project and the school staff, while also praising the multidisciplinary approach represented by UniSpher.
Johanna Jabotinsky “Atid” School principal, Veronica Cooper said:
“Our school is one of the first Israeli schools to apply the multidisciplinary approach to education, and Unispher is part of this approach. This method is so successful that the Ministry of Education is discussing a “unique” status for our school. Moreover, the Ministry recommends other schools to make use of our experience. That’s why today we are presenting this project for the education professionals and for the principals and teachers of other schools”.
UniSpher is an innovative education project, designed to bring up the students of the new generation, engage them into the education process, and give them such essential skills as creativity and teamwork, preparing them for the bustling and ever-changing world of the 21st century. The essence of the project is the team-based competition, during which the students build virtual worlds – a task impossible without the multidisciplinary knowledge.
David Arie, UniSpher creator said: “This project prepares developers and denizens of the future virtual universes, collectively known as “metaverse”. We didn’t expect such a level of success: this year we are already getting tens of propositions from schools in Israel and all over the world”.
Today, the 3rd of February, marks the start of the sign-up period for the Israeli middle and high schools.
