2024/01/18 New Milestone for UNISPHER: Givat Shmuel State High School Runs Innovative Learning Experiment in Collaboration with the City Education Department

Discussion, team and video conference with screen and business people, online with business meeting.

Ninth-grade students will study literature through a project-based learning process using an AI-powered technological platform developed by the UNISPHER. This platform characterizes the students’ skills, divides them into optimal teams, and assigns roles tailored to each student’s abilities. Subsequently, it allows the students to manage the project and their research work themselves. They will use advanced technology for project management, including tools for project administration, team management, and task management, as well as an autonomous workspace that includes team chat functions, GPT, and a studio with specific software components for game design, including NVIDIA and Unity. Additionally, the platform enables the teacher to monitor performance, the distribution of effort among students, and adherence to objectives through a dashboard customized to the school’s requirements.

This year, the students will work on creating computer games that facilitate challenging and enjoyable learning of literary works. This approach allows movement through the times and spaces of the work, acquaintance with the characters, solving puzzles, and completing tasks. The game creation process itself will cause the students to deeply understand the works, through consulting with ‘content experts’ (literature teachers), and will allow them to see the work through the eyes of both the teacher and the student. Once the games are completed, they will be uploaded to a digital store and will be available to all students at the school as an aid for learning literature through gaming.

Naturally, the outcome of the educational process includes the acquisition of skills such as teamwork, peer review, time management, independent learning, presenting viewpoints, and a full range of additional skills that are at the core of the Ministry of Education’s goals, following OECD research, to prepare graduates of the education system for the 21st century.
